Get a Grip: 2014 Buick Regal All-Wheel Drive

Buick is well-known for comfortable interiors and impressive styles, but did you know that some of the best vehicles for snow and ice wear the Buick logo?

With the inclusion of all-wheel drive, the 2014 Buick Regal gives you more grip and more control, excellent for snowy conditions, but also beneficial for acceleration and emergency maneuvers year-round.

2014 Buick Regal: AWD Capability, Buick Style

The 2014 Buick Regal is one of the most stylish and sporty vehicles on the road, so it may not come to mind when talking about snow and ice-capable vehicles. But guess what – with Buick’s innovative all-wheel drive system, the Regal is actually one of the best cars for keeping a grip in any situation.

This can also give you better grip when making emergency maneuvers, helping you avoid collisions and possibly saving lives.

With the ability to send power to the rear wheels, an AWD-equipped Regal doesn’t depend on the front wheels alone, which increases acceleration and grip in slick conditions.

At straight-line launch, the core of the Regal’s AWD system splits the power 50/50 between the front and rear wheels, simultaneously monitorings traction and redistributing torque to maximize take-off. In the Regal GS, a performance version of the popular sedan, selecting Sport mode heightens the system’s sensitivity and shifts more power to the rear for even greater traction.

With an advanced electronic limited slip differential, or eLSD, power is shifted between the two rear wheels to create the best turning and cornering grip.

Combining all of these innovative features, the Regal is a great choice for drivers who want a grippy, controlled drive in any weather.

The Regal is now the fourth Buick in the current lineup with all-wheel drive capability.

“With power going to all four wheels and the ability to transfer power to the wheel with the most grip, we’ve helped enable the driver to have maximum control on all surfaces.”
– James Walter, Regal AWD Engineer
